"You cannot change your Fate"

An interesting topic right?...
Here is the history...
"A man created the sands of time, and by doing so, he gained powers beyond imagination. He could travel back in time for a limited time, be so quick that you couldn't see him... but by doing so he has destroyd the timeline, and now he is pursued by an unstopable beast called the Dahaka. And so he goes to talk with a wiseman that he knows and it starts like this:
- An unstopable beast chases you becausre you destroyd the timeline by creating the sands.(Wiseman)
- I had to kill the ones i love and the ones i care about so i could live.
- But even so you will die, theres nothing you can do.(Wiseman)
- At least i will try...
- You cannot change your fate..... No man can ......(Wiseman)"
This is the story (short one), about the man that cannot change his fate, but even so he will try. And the question is.... will he make it or will it be useless to do it?

RE: Fate
Interesting story (from a game or a film?)! But I guess the most important thing here is not to know whether the man is going to be successful at changing his fate, but the fact that he's determined to try, even though the wiseman man tells him it's an impossible task.
His struggle with his Fate is not to avoid death (a certainty in any case) but to undo a wrong (restore the timeline) and have some choice and control over his life.
In fact, this man's fate (to die) is the same we all face as humans: the only thing we know for sure about our future is that someday (tomorrow or in 50 years time) we will die. So we all know where it's going to end, we just don't know when and how it's going to be in the meantime.
That's why hope is so important for us humans, even when faced with seemingly impossible tasks: we know right from the beginning that our existence is doomed to end at any time. If you cannot change that inevitable end, the only thing you can do is to choose how you make the journey, and that's what life is all about.
Life or Death...
This is a story of a game(Prince of Persia(prety cool:p)) but its not the game that counts but the history itself as you can see.
He has the power of the sands, and by having them he has changed the timeline, and so the timeline must be restored... and to do so the Dahaka (the beast) is chasing him and will eventually kill him.
The prince knows this and he is afraid like any other human being would be... but he is determined to change it, to stop the beast from killing him and to restore the timeline. But the question is "Can we change our Fate or are we destined to do something and to be salves of our Fate?"
The Wiseman warns him about this and tells him that his quest is uselles, hopeless, but the prince is determined to change his fate... He will fight until the end and another question is... What if he makes it? What if his able to change the timeline "again"?
"You cannot ghange your Fate..... No man can... :("
RE: Life or Death
The Wiseman warns him about this and tells him that his quest is useless, hopeless, but the prince is determined to change his fate... He will fight until the end
As I have tried to explain, this is the real important thing for me.
What if he makes it? What if his able to change the timeline "again"?
Then you have a comedy and a "mainstream", conventional story: against all odds, the hero manages to overcome what seemed impossible, survives and fades away to the sound of triumphal music. He also gets the amazing girl, if the story has one.
If he fails, then you have a tragedy (in a classical sense, since his death results from a flaw in his character, admirable for many other reasons) - these stories might be considered less entertaining but are much more interesting, IMHO. :-)
My FATE!!
Hi!
The story is very interesting and the question too!!
I think if I have the opportunity to change me fate, I don't think twice!! I would change my fate in that minute!
About the last topic from JoseMota, a prefer the tragedy movies!! I love when the story ends is terrible and when everyone dies!:D

You would change your fate...
The question is "Can you change your Fate?"..... or are we "doomed" to live a life that has already been writen on the timeline, that even if you have to chose between something you are always "destined" to pick one, and not the other.
This man (Prince of Persia) has realised the sands and has been imbued with powers such as travel back in time and by doing so he has changed all the timeline. In consequence he is being chased by an unstopable beast called the "Dahaka" and the Prince knows that he must die so the timeline can be restored again, but he doesn't want to die(nobody wants to...).
He goes to the island where he had realised the sands so he could go back in time to stop himself from ever opening the hourglass (Wich contained the sands of time).
Will he dye as predicted or will he be able to change his fate and escape a certain death?
If you knew your destiny and you thought it would be great would you change it?
"You cannot change your Fate,... No man can"
I'm a fighter!!
Hi!
I perfectly understand your point of view!
But even if I don't knonw what are my destiny or If there are already definied I would figth for it and would try to change it and do it on my way!!
But this is my opinion, and I'm a figther I never give up for anything so.....If you give up it's not my business!!
And to finish I say that: I can change my fate, If want I can
Bye bye!***
RE: I'm a fighter
This is a classical paradox. For those who believe in Fate, you cannot possibly change it, because no matter what you do they'll always tell you that what happens in the end is what was always meant to be. Although you thought you were changing your destiny, you were in fact making it happen precisely as it was determined to happen through your actions :-)
Those that believe...
It is true those who believe that theres is something such as fate, you cant do nothing about it because everything you do has always been written and even if you think that your actually changing it.... you would always do it , no mater what you think....
And so i will ask it again. Are we free to do wathever we want of our lives until our death arrives, or are we doomed to live a life that has already been writen for us ....
RE: Those that believe
You know what I think: you make your own Fate through the way you live your life. Nothing is predetermined (fortunately).
Cheers
Again....
Like I have already explain, I totally agree with you!!
I think that I can make my own destiny!!
Bye*_*_*
Yes.. I think that too... We
Yes..
I think that too... We make our own fate...
If we want a smily futur, we've got to do something now!
We should not stay at home waiting that something happen in our lives, we should fight for our futur, our life!
I don´t go comment this, because you know what I think about this things of fate, and dreams mean!
I belive in fate, and I don´t know if we can change it, because I don´t know what is my fate, my work here (in the world). So I can´t answer.
But (this is the science-ficcion fan talking), if we knew what would happen, I think, we could (and this is imaginable), change our fate, and future.
And didn´t come with the question: And how do you know that choise wasn´t already wrote in your fate? Because I don´t go to answer.
I belive in fate, but I can´t prove it, so I don´t know if I can or not change it.
So....
Kisses***

It is a choice...
I have already played this game, so I know the story. But I don't believe in Fate. Like someone said the only think we know that is going to happen is our death. But we can choose our way of life. And the choice belongs to us...every moment we can say yes or no to something.
Humans need something to live for..have you ever think what are we doing here on earth? It is just to came here, have pleasure, waste and destroy everything we can..or can we do something more?
Im my opinion, it's in this point that we can choose our life..and in the end of it think that we did everythink we could to do this world better and happier:)
Bye**
To believe or not...
So you don't believe in fate? I wont disagree with you because everione has its own opinion and so i will respect it, but in my opinion im not sure if there is a fate for us... I want to believe that we are the ones who build our own life and path but is it really like that? Are we free?...
Have you seen how the history ends?
"You cannot change your Fate.... No man can.
At least i will try."
RE: to believe or not
MechDanny, you're killing us with your teasing. Come on, tell us how it ends and what you make of it :-)
------
Usage notes: won't (will not); "everyone has THEIR own opinion" or "everyone has his or her own opinion"; "I", not "i"; I'm (I am).
I know most of these mistakes are not because you don't know how to do it right, so why don't you? :-)
THE END!!
Only the question:
- What are the end of this story?? (=
RE: The end!!
That's what I'm saying. We're not getting any younger. Is there a chance we'll hear the end of this story before I retire and you have kids? LOL
-------
Usage notes:
story=singular, so "What IS the end of the story" or "How does the story end?"
The end of the Story (Or maybe not?)
First of all let me apology for this long, long wait. I wasn’t able to finish it earlier but now I assure you that it is finished :) enjoy it.
The topic that was being discussed was “Can we change our fate or are we bound to it?” Many ideas have come but now see if you’re right after reading this. Resuming the story the Prince of Persia has been sentenced to death because he has unleashed the sands of time and has the powers to use them by going back in time, slow time itself (except for him) or even speed it up! For that the Dahaka is chasing him and will not stop until it takes the Prince’s life. Nevertheless the Prince is not willing to be easily defeated and runs away from the Dahaka searching for an answer. But the Wise man from the desert tells him “You cannot change your fate. No man can….” And so the Prince was sentenced to death. Although the Prince was stuck to his destiny he thought “Even if I’m bound to this fate, at least I’ll dye fighting!” And so he took a dangerous and long trip to the island where the sands were created so he could stop them from being so. After all this adventures he found the one responsible for the creation of the sands, Kailenna, a gorgeous woman. He tells her his looking for the creator and she tells him that she is and she must apology for she needs to kill him. After a long fight the Prince asks her why is she doing that and she answers that if he had fought so hard to change his destiny she would do the same. “What destiny? What are you talking about?”, “I have foreseen my destiny, that I would die by the hands of the Prince of Persia! I am willing to change that fate!”, “Wait, Kailenna! You don’t need to do this! Stop!”, “I WILL CHANGE MY DESTINY!”, and so the prince stabs Kailenna in her chest taking away her life and in the end, by killing the one who was going to create the sands the Prince thought he had done it, he had changed his destiny. Then he suddenly realizes that in the moment he had killed Kailenna HE had created the sands of time because they where kept inside Kailenna Spirit! The Dahaka was still after him and there was nothing he could do…….. but then he read a parchment from an inscription on the wall saying “The mask of the Sand Reaver allowed me to have a second chance, I was able to go back on time and undo what I had done” And so there was still hope. The Prince fought bravely until he was able to find what he was looking for, the mask of the Sand Reaver! When he wore that mask he suddenly realized that he was now cursed he could not take the mask out until he had killed the “other him” from the past. (Note: If he killed the Prince from the Past before reaching Kailenna and killed her he would “take” the others Prince place and he already knew what was going to happen so he would not kill her:). So he was able to accomplish his goal and he took the place of the Past Prince and he did not kill Kailenna. He was able to convince her that there was another way and took Kailenna to the Present (Note: Because of his powers the Prince was able to go back on time, when Kailenna lived (Past), and his own time (Present).) and by doing so she didn’t create the sands of time. He was free at last. But suddenly the Dahaka appears and prepares to fight. “What are you doing? The sands weren’t created! You no longer exist!” and suddenly the Dahaka grabs Kailenna and starts to fight her. “It isn’t me he’s looking for, it’s Kailenna! It is she who does not belong to this time! I must do something!” And so the Prince, in an act of despair, engages the Dahaka with his sword……… The Dahaka is an invincible beast and can never be beaten in battle……. But with his sword the Prince is able to wound the Dahaka! “So he has a weakness and now I’ll destroy him!” after a long fight the Prince is able to destroy the Dahaka. “Finally I’m free.” And so is Kailenna. Both of them build a boat so they can go to Persia. Happy ending right? Maybe I was wrong……. Or maybe not? In his journey back to his home he has a vision of Kailenna being killed by him and other things……. So what will happen? This is the end of Chapter 2. Coming soon Chapter 3! Prince of Persia: The Two Thrones!!!!!
