The Story of Stuff

josemota's picture

Now that you have a bit more time, here's a great video about how we produce, distribute and consume goods, the negative consequences of our over-consumption and some things we can do to help curb the problem.

The "Story of Stuff" explained by the author:

From its extraction through sale, use and disposal, all the stuff in our lives affects communities at home and abroad, yet most of this is hidden from view. The Story of Stuff is a 20-minute, fast-paced, fact-filled look at the underside of our production and consumption patterns. The Story of Stuff exposes the connections between a huge number of environmental and social issues, and calls us together to create a more sustainable and just world. It'll teach you something, it'll make you laugh, and it just may change the way you look at all the stuff in your life forever.

nice vid teacher, it made me remind of 2 movies I've watched recently, The World According to Monsanto, that talks about a company called Monsanto that is going to kill us all silently with their GMO food, and The Corporation, that talks about how corporations around the world only care about money, and are capable of killing us all silently only to get rich. Yeah, we're pretty much screwed
