RE: New seven wonders

It's a tough choice: they're all magnificent monuments, and there are a lot more not included. I think it's a shame that Portugal is not present in the competition, since I believe we have some monuments as worthy as those in the selection.

I'd choose Stonehenge, The Easter Island Statues and The Alhambra, though on another day I might have a different choice :-)

-------------

Some usage notes:
- "will be happen the choice" - the words are English, but not the sentence. Try "Next year, Portugal is going to host the choice of the new seven world wonders" (or something similar);
- fortune - fortunate - fortunately - unfortunately :-);
- "choose" (verb), not "choice" (noun) - "You can vote and choose";
- you cannot use a noun and a pronoun at the same time, because they occupy the same place in the sentence. You cannot say "The man he is nice", or "The house it is big". So you cannot say "The idea it's not" or "The idea it's make". You have to say "The idea IS not to see ..." and "The idea is to make History ... or It's to make History".

Stonehenge

Hi!
I don't if you have already visit England!
When I see the Stonehenge I'm very disapointed because before that I'm very excited about visiting the Stonehenge ( I LOVE History)and I thinked that's it a huge thing created by humans a long time ago!
When I really see Stonehenge, I was like: " this is Stonehenge, this small thing????"
I think we have a great idea about the monnument and the books and all of this kind of things show us a big monnument and when we see it feel dispointed! :S

Well, this is only my opinion!!
What you think?! Did have visite Stonehenge?

Bye Bye***

RE: Stonehenge

I have already been to England but I have never visited Stonehenge. I can understand your disappointment if you thought you were going to find a big, imposing monument, and then you found something small that failed to meet your expectations. But, you know, for me, the value and importance of monuments don't lie only in their physical/material appearance, no matter how marvellous and impressive they might be. They also lie in what they represent, i.e. what they are the expression of: a culture, a weltanschauung (the word is German, but is also used in English to mean a certain perspective of the world and of existence), a certain way of being. And sometimes it's the simple things that express the most profound meanings :-)
