just a book

well, I'm reading the third book of the compilation "The Mists of Avalon - The king Stag" (Brumas de Avalon - O Rei Viado).. it's a romance that discribes an era of religious conflicts, between christianity and magic. by puting things this way it might seem a little uninteresting, or maybe boring, but it isn't.
I like it because when I'm reading I feel involved in the context, it's hard to stop reading it, just to look at the front cover it makes me want to devour it; when I'm not reading it's always in my thoughts, I want to know how it ends, but when I finish I feel unsatisfied. it's a nice feeling, it makes me wanna read untill my eyes get tired... right, its just a book, but I like it, unfortunately ther's only four books in the compilation, well, guess that must be enough
take care
oh, by the way, the author is Marion Zimmer Bradley(advisable) :)

RE:Just a book
I've read all the four of them and I agree: they're the kind of books you read eagerly to see how the story develops and ends, but when you finish them you feel unsatisfied because you want more :-)
As you very well say, the saga is about the clash between the Christian culture and the older Celtic culture (where religion and magic are mixed). But it is also about something else even more important: the transition from a culture that worshiped and treasured the feminine to a culture where women were considered inferior to men.
Excellent reading :-)
