Earth, a very special planet

In 1960 we saw the first time, the picture that perhaps has had the greatest impact: the Earth seen from space. Previously, it wasn’t possible to truly understand that the Earth is actually a small body with a planetary orbit around a star of average size, the Sun.
The history of the Earth has been a great series, which is the history of the Solar System, and that an even greater, which is the history of the universe.
The Earth, however, has special characteristics and unique compared to other planets in the Solar System.
These are characteristics that have allowed the existence of a great diversity of living things. But, in recent years, have been an uncontrolled increase of pollutants in the atmosphere, hydrosphere and in the soils.
This increase wonders in the capacity for self-regulation of the various subsystems.
Living on Earth means taking advantage of the resources in a sustainable way by successive generations.

A very special planet indeed :-)
If we think of how vast the universe is, with so many stars and planets, and of how many special conditions have to coincide for life to appear and develop, it becomes obvious that the Earth is a very special planet and that we are really fortunate :-).
